When someone is being intimidating
it can make it easy for you to pick their pattern

Is the other person just
							intimidating today or every day?

Observing people when they are intimidating can be handy when picking someone's pattern prior to imposing correctly.

We have now inclided a separate commentary on impulsiveness as that can be intimidating to others.

You will most likely need assistance :-) This might tell you what but it will not tell you how.

Here are all sixteen patterns, all in intimidation mode - you will be here, too!

The definition of intimidate is to make timid or fearful, to frighten, especially to compel or deter by or as if by threats; to scare or put on edge.

"If you let a bully intimidate you, he's going to do it again. You've got to stand up to these strong-arm tactics." Charles Djou.

1. Can it be the Director - ESTJ?

The Director is the Border Collie

General: A focus on achievement gives unstoppable energy that intimidates less motivated types. Are not fooled by excuses or complaining. Thinks that people are capable of more than they give themselves credit for. Need to realise that some people just want to keep making excuses and stay in their comfort zone.

Dialogue: The Director pushes people to take responsibility for their lives and, in a world where excuses run rampant, the Director is not taking the bait. They challenge people to do their part and to live with truth and purpose. They make people realise they are capable of more than they realised. They break down goals into step-by-step plans and then pull them off their backs and push them towards action. The Director has no patience for complaining, procrastination and laziness. The Director intimidates people by challenging them to do more and become more than what they currently are. This is done by their traditional subjective 'My way or the highway' approach.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 11/16. They are usually quite calculating and analytical when it comes to making decisions but they can also be very spontaneous in certain situations. They tend to act on impulse when a decision needs to be made quickly and there is little time to plan. They are also not averse to taking risks if they believe it will benefit them in the long run. They do not mind seeing what happens as long as they can trust their judgment and understand the consequences of their decisions. While at number 11, they may not be the most impulsive type, they can act on impulse when the situation demands it.

-

2. Can it be the Developer - ENTJ?

The Developer is the German Shepherd

General: A focus on achievement gives unstoppable energy that intimidates less motivated types. Are not fooled by excuses or complaining. Thinks that people are capable of more than they give themselves credit for. Need to realise that some people just want to keep making excuses and stay in their comfort zone.

Dialogue: The Developer is confident and visionary and has no patience for trivial activities or procrastination. They intimidate people with boldness and insight. They have a feeling that could win any argument, see past any excuse or point out any inefficiencies that are keeping someone from their goals. Some people enjoy this – they want to be challenged. But other individuals would rather stay in their comfort zone, getting by rather than achieving. They are intimidated because the Developer will remind them of how much they could do if they stopped making excuses and getting in their own way. The Developer is competitive and will always be in a fight.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 10/16. They are known to be decisive and analytical thinkers who tend to think things through before they act. They do not usually go out looking for risk or adventure. However they are are not averse to taking well-thought-out and calculated risks if the potential reward is worth it. They are usually quite confident and assertive when they do take action, but not in a reckless way. When they do need to act impulsively, they tend to be able to quickly assess the situation and make well-informed decisions. This pattern is also highly independent so their impulsive decisions may be more about asserting their autonomy than anything else. They like to think before they act but when they do go with their gut instinct it usually a well thought out outcome.

-

3. Can it be the Results - ESTP?

The Results is the Jack Russell Terrier

General: Daring and impulsive with a limitless thirst for adventure. Challenges people to face their fears and take risks. Will challenge people to look over the edge of the cliff to develop their own bravery and strength. Will also challenge people to 'embrace the moment' and not be constantly distracted.

Dialogue: The Results has sheer confidence and impulsive bravery that makes them intimidating to many. There is no challenge too steep that a Results will not face head-on. Risk and uncertainty do not scare the Results and they would rather speak truth than tiptoe around other people’s feelings. Their courageous nature and logical directness can be dizzying to the more timid or safety-seeking types. They will challenge them to embrace adventure, to face their fears and to unshackle themselves from distractions and excuses. That reality can be spine-chilling (but sometimes exciting) for many to face. The Results is intimidating and impulsive.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 1/16. Clubhouse leader. They are known as being so adventurous and they just live for experiences. They also love to take risks which often means making decisions without thinking them through. When they see something that catches their eye, they often act on it without hesitation. Their willingness to jump into action at a moment’s notice can be both a strength and a weakness. On the one hand, it allows them to tackle tasks efficiently and get results quickly. On the other, it can lead them to make decisions without carefully considering all of their options. Their impulsivity can sometimes get them into trouble but they always make life exciting.

-

4. Can it be the Inspirational - ENTP?

The Inspirational is the Bull Terrier

General: Will shake up peoples view of the world and traditions. Likes innovation, evolution and change. Lives for transformation and novelty. This can intimidate the lovers of the status quo who do not want to second guess their traditions.

Dialogue: The Inspirational is similar to the Promoter in that they likes to flip tradition on its head and show people new ways of seeing the world around them. An iconoclast, who attacks or criticises cherished beliefs or institutions, a rebel and someone who does not mind debating your views with precision and accuracy and this often this upsets others. The fact that they can face the void of the unknown and see nothing but possibilities can intimidate people. Some are afraid of what the Inspirational might open their mind to and what cherished viewpoints they might leave behind in the process. The Inspirational can indecisive but is a debater on all issues.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 3/16. They are known for being intelligent, creative thinkers who love to challenge the status quo. They are also incredibly curious and spontaneous which often leads them to act impulsively. When they spot an opportunity, they are usually quick to jump on it before anyone else can. They do not like to be bogged down by too much planning, so making decisions on the fly appeals to their preference for spontaneity. They are innovative and their mind is constantly buzzing with ideas. This can be both a blessing and a curse, as their impulsivity can sometimes lead them astray if they do not take the time to think things through. They often have trouble finishing tasks, as they move on quickly to their next big idea. Fortunately their ability to quickly analyze and problem-solve means that they are usually able to get out of any tricky situations caused by their impulsivity fairly unscathed.

-

5. Can it be the Persuader - ENFJ?

The Persuader is the Boxer

General: Is empathetic and organised and can sense what people need before they realist it themselves. Will not let people hide away in the background. Will get people to come out of their shell and reveal their life stories before they realise what is going on. This ability can seem like a superpower to some yet intimidating to others.

Dialogue: The Persuader is unlikely to be described as intimidating. Empathic and insightful, they attempt to put people at ease when in their presence. That said, the same things that comfort some can be nerve-wracking for others. They find themselves intimidated by what the Persuader sees in them. They know that just being in the presence of the Persuader opens them up to perceptive insight. The Persuader might see something – some gift or potential that they will try to motivate the other person towards. The Persuader might sense feelings that others are trying to keep hidden. The Persuader will emotionally X-ray people and sometimes this can be intimidating for those who want to stay hidden. This is the Persuader's urge to interfere.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 9/16. Are the most impulsive out of the Judgers. They are are not overly impulsive at rest when they think before they act. However, they are known to be people-pleasers and they often act on impulse when it comes to making decisions that involve others. They can be quite spontaneous and impulsive in social situations, usually choosing to go with their intuition instead of analyzing the situation first. This trait is beneficial in some ways as it allows them to quickly connect and engage with others. Although it can also backfire if their decisions do not turn out as expected. Buying items as 'executive decisons' when They have no authority is an example of trouble with this pattern.

-

6. Can it be the Appraiser - ESFJ

The Appraiser is the Great Dane

General: Intimidating is one of the last words most people would use to describe them. Empathic and insightful, they attempt to put people at ease when in their presence. That said, the same things that comfort some can be nerve-wracking for others.

Dialogue: The Appraiser seems to know the ins and outs of every social sphere that they enter. Almost instantly they can guess who is connected to whom, which rivalries are in place, which friends are loyal and who needs what. The Appraiser "gets" people and understands what people enjoy and perceive the tiny details that influence them. Some people can find this perceptiveness intimidating. e.g. They might go to a party wanting to blend into the background and within minutes of meeting the Appraiser they find that they have been invited to dinner, introduced to five people and inadvertently involved in a heated party game. But with time they realise that they are enjoying themselves and there was not anything to be scared of after all, particularly as outbursts are rare by the Appraiser.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 13/16. They are usually quite careful when it comes to making decisions preferring to think things through before acting. They do not take risks unless they can calculate the potential reward and understand the consequences. Preferring harmony and balance they prefer a predictable outcome. Therefore, they tend to avoid acting impulsively in most situations. However, they can occasionally be overcome by their emotions and act without thinking. In these cases, it is best for them to take a step back and cool off before acting. They are not very impulsive but they can become so in certain situations.

-

7. Can it be the Promoter - ENFP?

The Promoter is the Golden Retriever

General: Will shake up peoples' view of the world and traditions. Likes innovation, evolution and change. Lives for transformation and novelty. This can intimidate the lovers of the status quo who do not want to second guess their traditions.

Dialogue: The Promoter intimidates people by questioning the traditions and societal norms in which so many find comfort. They are willing to step outside the box and see things from angles and perspectives that nobody imagined before – and that can feel scary for a lot of people. The fact that the Promoter shakes up their world views and questions long-standing norms and viewpoints can be terrifying to some people. It is as if the Promoter is removing the fences that guard them from the edge of a cliff and saying, "Hey! Look at this view now!" but it is all too dizzying and steep for many. This is one factor that makes the Promoter extremely difficult to deal with.

A manipulative, emotional and stressed out Promoter will have some or all of the following:

▶ Extremely introverted - normally they will be talking with other introverts and trying to make them feel comfortable. When they become enclosed, cutting out the outside world, it is a big red flag.
▶ Manipulative - They may find ways to try to manipulate others to get what they want. They may try to manipulate in order to get others to like them.
▶ Controlling - They may want to try to control their environment to an extreme degree. They may micromanage other people in order to solve other people’s problems (and making them feel better). They will blame other people’s behaviour and things around them for the deep malaise and anxiety they feel.
▶ Revealing Secrets - They find themselves in the spotlight and they may reveal secrets and embarrassing things about others or themselves that should remain confidential. They maybe unable to hide secrets because of how transparent they are. They are seeking the sympathy vote by not addressing their own problems
▶ Distorting reality - They may be more into their own thoughts and what they have to say instead of listening carefully and attentively to others. They are fantastic talkers and pathetic listeners. They may turn whatever others have to say into their own ideals. This reality distortion is a very dangerous trait of the evil Promoter (who can be 200% evil).
▶ Jealous - They will see other talents and think of themselves as inadequate. They may work extra hard, but then blame themselves with their lack of attention to detail (which is all of the time).
▶ Emotionally expressive / lashing out - Many Promoters have anger management problems. And they may lash out in direct or indirect ways such as sarcasm and passive-aggression.
▶ Overly optimistic - They can refuse to focus on their weaknesses, but dwell in their own delusion.
▶ Behaviour such as difficulty maintaining attention and frequent running around shift to exaggerated changes in mood or affect in quick succession. Lack of anger management skills, emotional over-reactivity and evidence of a total lack of organisation are seen. Coupled with this are concomitant spontaneity, creativity and responsiveness. Many of the traits associated with creative individuals overlap substantially with behavioural descriptions of ADHD, including higher levels of spontaneous idea generation, mind wandering, daydreaming, sensation seeking, energy and impulsiveness.
▶ You have been warned.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 4/16. While they may not be quite as reckless as thsde ranked higher, they still have a tendency to act without thinking first. They are usually so excited about life that it is difficult for them to focus on one thing at a time. They often jump from idea to idea which can lead them to make decisions without considering all of the consequences. They are also prone to procrastination (as per our example J. Chester Bickerstaff IV, the Money Moocher Promoter) as they tend to be easily distracted by things that spark their interest. This means that they often rush into decisions in order to meet nearly expired deadlines or to avoid conflict. While their impulsivity can sometimes get them into trouble, it also makes them incredibly exciting, fun and spontaneous.

-

8. Can it be the Counselor - ESFP

The Counselor is the Poodle

General: Daring and impulsive with a limitless thirst for adventure. Challenges people to face their fears and take risks. Will challenge people to look over the edge of the cliff to develop their own bravery and strength. Will also challenge people to 'embrace the moment' and not be constantly distracted.

Dialogue: The Counselor is enthusiastic, perceptive and impulsive and intimidates people by pushing them towards possibility. They challenge people to step outside their comfort zone and get into the real business of living. When someone is in the Counselor's presence there is a sense that they will reveal opportunities and adventures that might scare and inspire them. The Counselor will challenge individuals to take those leaps, get up on the stage or buy tickets to far-off destinations. The Counselor makes people aware that they can take life by the horns and risk everything to feel the intoxicating rush of freedom and beauty that life can give. This is not for everyone as the 'life of the party' is not the 'party of life' when things calm down.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 2/16. They love to take risks which can often lead them to make impulsive choices. They are usually so caught up in the moment that they do not stop to think about potential consequences. They thrive off of spontaneous activities and live for the excitement that comes with making quick decisions. They just love to have fun. They are usually the life of the party and they can often be found leading their friends on wild adventures. While their impulsivity is often exhilarating, it can also lead them to make snap judgments without considering all of the facts. They can land themselves in hot water if they have not thought things through properly, which is often the case.

-

9. Can it be the Specialist - ISFP

The Specialist is the Saint Bernard

General: Is aware of the emotional distance between themselves and others due to insight and perception. Can sense ulterior motives and hidden emotional needs. This can intimidate as people can feel 'seen' in a way that puts them off guard if they are not ready for it.

Dialogue: The Specialist is, by nature, a walking contradiction. They are idealistic yet realistic, amiable but no-nonsense, flexible but determined. They can intimidate people simply because they are not quite sure what to expect from the Specialist. There is a sense that the Specialist will perceive any efforts at manipulation and be too practical to fall for lies or fanciful stories. The Specialist might initially seem easy-going and relaxed and later show steely resolve about an unexpected cause or belief. This series of contradictions can both excite and intimidate people. Then the Specialist's aversion to change, criticism and conflict comes in.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 7/16. They are driven by their personal values and ideals which can lead them to make some sudden decisions. They are willing to take risks if they believe in something strongly enough and they will not hesitate when it comes to standing up for what they believe in. This is especially true when it comes to protecting those close to them. They are also known for their spontaneous nature and willingness to try new things which can lead them to some pretty impulsive decisions. On the plus side, this trait often leads them down paths filled with adventure and excitement. They are not afraid of taking risks and do not mind if things do not turn out as expected. In the end, they know that a life lived on the edge is the best kind of life for them.

-

10. Can it be the Investigator - INFJ?

The Investigator is the Greyhound

General: Is more focussed on the background of what is happening rather than surface level reality Very quick to spot hidden motives, purposes and strategies. This, together with uncanny foresight, can seem intimidating and eerie.

Dialogue: The Investigator is an introvert, yet has a warmth, insight and empathy that can emotionally disarm people. This can be intimidating to some because there is a sense that, sooner or later, you will be the audience for some of their joys, fears and more private life stories. You will understand the hidden motivations and implications that have led them to where they are at today. The Investigator can appear like an emotional detective – picking up clues and connections that have, until now, passed other people by. While some people love this, it can be equally intimidating to others. When the emotional detective is compared with the warmth, this is the two-faced aspect of an Investigator.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 12/16. Thoughtful, introspective and analytical, they tend to take their time when making determining the best course of action. They usually need lots of information before they can make an informed decision. Although they are not known for being impulsive in general decisions, they do have moments where emotion takes over and they act on impulse. In these moments, the impulsiveness is driven by their strong sense of morality and their desire to protect those they care about. However, in general, they are not the pattern to jump into things without carefully assessing the situation first.

-

11. Can it be the Agent - INFP?

The Agent is the Tibetan Terrier

General: Is aware of the emotional distance between themselves and others due to insight and perception. Can sense ulterior motives and hidden emotional needs. This can intimidate as people can feel 'seen' in a way that puts them off guard if they are not ready for it.

Dialogue: The Agent is keenly aware of the emotional distance between themselves and others. In a one-on-one situation they listen and observe with intense empathy and awareness. However, this attentiveness can be off-putting to some because beneath their quiet demeanor it is clear that they are perceptive of intentions and authenticity levels. One gets the feeling when the Agent is talking to you that none of the Agent's lies or cover-ups will pass beneath the radar. The Agent feels "seen" and, while some people may appreciate that, it can intimidate others who have ulterior motives or wish to present themselves in a perfectly curated light. The Agent poses trouble.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 8/16. Are the least impulsive of all the perceiver types. While they may not be the most impulsive, they can still make quick decisions when faced with tough choices. They tend to act on principles and values that are important to them and, as such, will sometimes take risks if it means defending those values. They are also highly creative and imaginative which means that they can often think up a quick solution when presented with an opportunity or idea. They are not usually prone to jump into things without putting some thought into them. But if the situation calls for it and their values are at stake, they will not hesitate to act impulsively. They still have moments where emotion overrules them leading them into risky scenarios with little thought given beforehand.

-

12. Can it be the Achiever - ISTP?

The Achiever is the Bassett Hound

General: Is mysterious, enigmatic and nearly impossible to read and that alone can be intimidating to some. Plus highly analytical and aware of logical inconsistencies. Can dismantle opinions in absolutely no time and that can be very scary for some to discover.

Dialogue: The Achiever is capable and clever and has a restless energy and intellectual prowess that sets them apart. There is an electricity behind their gaze – a certain sense of knowing paired with a readiness to respond. Nothing slips by; they notice every flinch, every sideways glance and every effort someone takes to hide something. They intimidate people because, in a world full of distractions, they pay attention and speak truths that other people are too afraid to reveal. They take back the work. They have areputation for a violent temper but with a long fuse.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 6/16. Are known to be impulsive at times. This really comes out when they are passionate about something and their enthusiasm leads them to explore new ideas. They often get caught up in abstract ideas and theories so when they spot an interesting concept or opportunity they usually act on it without hesitation. As excellent problem-solvers, they can think critically and quickly often coming up with multiple solutions in a matter of minutes. What sets them apart from others is their ability to focus on the big picture and see how all the individual pieces fit together. They do take longer than higher ranked impulsive patterns types to make decisions due to their need for analyzing possible options carefully. So when they do act impulsively, it does not always end badly.

-

13. Can it be the Practitioner - ISFJ?

The Practitioner is the Alaskan Malamute

General: Has a tendency to stay in the background but the ability to fly under the radar means that they notice things about people that others do not. When people realise just how many details and patterns have been noticed by the Practitioner, it can be intimidating, shocking and scary.

Dialogue: The Practitioner is gentle and generous and may not seem intimidating to many. There is something beautiful about their quiet, reflective nature. They lack the sharp edges that emotionally surround so many people and that alone can be disarming and surprising. People feel that by being with the Practitioner they will be motivated to be kinder, gentler and more self-aware. Without even realizing it they make people slow down and take notice of the little details in life that have been overlooked. By their actions they can make individuals aware of their own self-seeking ways and that can be intimidating for some especially when the Practitioner plays the victim and becomes passive-aggressive in a short space of time.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 15/16. Second last. They prefer to think things through before making a decision and they absolutely do not like taking risks where they rank 16/16. They are very sensitive to their environment and the people around them so they prefer situations that feel safe and secure. For this reason, they usually avoid impulsive decisions as they understand that it can disrupt the peace and cause unnecessary conflict. In general, they are practical and level-headed preferring to take their time when making decisions. They just miss out on being the least impulsive because they are more emotionally driven than the Objective Thinker. If they feel backed into a corner or if their values are being threatened, they might be tempted to act impulsively.

-

14. Can it be the Objective Thinker - ISTJ?

The Objective Thinker is the Bernese Mountain Dog

General: Has a tendency to stay in the background but the ability to fly under the radar means that they notice things about people that others do not. When people realise just how many details and patterns have been noticed by the Objective Thinker, it can be intimidating, shocking and scary.

Dialogue: The Objective Thinker is thorough, systematic and sensible. They take their responsibilities seriously and expect others to do the same. They cannot it when people make excuses for bad behaviour or complain about the hand they have been dealt without taking action. The Objective Thinker's serious, formal and hard-working demeanour can seem intimidating to the more scattered types. The Objective Thinker believes in honour, responsibility and consistency and those who are morally ambiguous and irresponsible tend to feel exposed in the Objective Thinker's presence. Little do they know that underneath this stoic, serious demeanor the Objective Thinker has a quirky, offbeat and affable side with a reputation as a great operator.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 16/16. Least. Logical, practical and methodical they prefer to take their time and think things through when making decisions. They do not like taking risks or acting without understanding all of the potential consequences of their actions. They are often very careful and calculated when it comes to making decisions. They understand that impulsive decisions can lead to more harm than good so they usually try their best to resist this urge. They use logic and facts to make decisions and try their best to avoid emotional bias. For this reason, they rank last at 16.

-

15. Can it be the Perfectionist - INTP?

The Perfectionist is the Papillon

General: Is mysterious, enigmatic and nearly impossible to read and that alone can be intimidating to some. Plus highly analytical and aware of logical inconsistencies. Can dismantle opinions in absolutely no time and that can be very scary for some to discover.

Dialogue: The Perfectionist has a cool, detached demeanor which can be intimidating to people who want to be able to easily "read" them. They are not easily de-coded and their independence, unpredictability and enigmatic demeanour can put some people on edge. The Perfectionist does not typically intend to intimidate people – in fact, they enjoy close, warm relationships. They just do not tend to spend a lot of time engaging in small talk, gossip or wearing emotions on their sleeve. This makes the Perfectionist hard to figure out – and this mystery can scare some people off. They prefer to be alone. They are generally totally useless with practical matters.

Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 6/16. They are known to be impulsive at times. This really comes out when they are passionate about something and their enthusiasm leads them to explore new ideas. They often get caught up in abstract ideas and theories so when they spot an interesting concept or opportunity they usually act on it without hesitation. They are excellent problem-solvers. They can think critically and quickly, often coming up with multiple solutions in a matter of minutes. What sets them apart from other patterns is their ability to focus on the big picture and see how all the individual pieces fit together. They do take longer than other more impulsive types to make decisions due to their need for analyzing possible options carefully. So when they do act impulsively, it does not always end badly.

-

16. Can it be the Enhancer - INTJ?

The Enhancer is a Lone Wolf

General: Is more focussed on the background of what is happening rather than surface level reality. Is very quick to spot hidden motives, purposes and strategies. This, together with uncanny foresight, can seem intimidating and eerie. Has totally no patience with inefficiency and confusion.

Dialogue: The Enhancer has an intense, perceptive nature that tends to make people feel disarmed and exposed. While the Persuader, Investigator, Appraiser and Practitioner will alter themselves for other people’s comfort, the Enhancer has an intense focus and directness that has no patience for such things. They also have no fear of pointing out flaws, inconvenient truths, holding people to account and expecting others to take responsibility for their own actions. This fearlessness can make some people intimidated because they do not want to have their plans or ideas de-bunked or altered in any way or be called to account. That said, for people who are looking for insight, sincerity and strategic advice the Enhancer is a welcome breath of fresh air. The Enhancer may not realize just how much of a threat that their intelligence can seem to others. Typically they were tracked into advanced classes early in life, went on for advanced degrees and entered high IQ professions surrounded by others like themselves. Even in ordinary settings, their intelligence will probably be noticed. They will be able to calculate bills in their heads, remember movies photographically or find their way from Point A to Point B very quickly. Their writing skills are usually exceptional and this will be noticeable even on e-mail and social media. These things come naturally and they see no reason to edit them out socially. There is no reason that they should, but they may intimidate others. The Enhancer is the most self sufficient of all patterns.

they p>Oxor Impulsometer Ranking™ and Comment: 14/16.Calculated, strategic and analytical, they prefer to take their time and think things through when making decisions. They do not like to rush into things without understanding all of the potential consequences. Although they may be tempted to act impulsively in some situations, they usually resist this urge as they understand that it is not always the wisest course of action. They are often 10 steps ahead of everyone else so they are usually able to see the long-term implications of their actions. Because of this, they are not impulsive people and prefer to think things through before making a decision. However, they are not afraid to take well-calculated risks and dance around stupid rules with strategies that can never be unmasked.

Here are some things that the Enhancer says that may scare other patterns:
▶ “Actually...”
▶ “Uh-huh... and what was your source for that?”
▶ “I don’t think so.”
▶ “I wouldn't have thought so.”
▶ “Are you sure about that?”
▶ “I don’t know what to do.”

Here are some things that the Enhancer does that may scare other patterns:
▶ Takes a deep, deeeeeep, sigh after being asked something.
▶ Glares intently.
▶ Displays brutal honesty - often people looked shocked at this honesty even if it is what they asked for.
▶ Has unedited sarcasm - often people look shocked by this sarcasm because they get used to the honesty and think that the Enhancer is being serious.
▶ Has permanent skepticism which is usually proved to be correct. e.g. the electric bus, whose operation will save the planet, is actually powered by electricity generated by coal at the local power station.
▶ Possesses a fantastic memory, even if the event was decades ago. What really seems to scare others is when they remember the specific details about people's lives that they were told sometime. Perhaps they never thought the Enhancer was listening to begin with. Or just they do not anticipate the Enhancer remembering where they live or the name of their dog so long after being told.
▶ The Enhancer does something to make others realise that an Enhancer's brain just is not quite wired the same as everyone else's.

Editor's comment: The Enhancer is only 2% (roughly) of the population. However, you have been warned.
